Paste a facebook.com/watch or fb.watch link and save the video as MP4, in HD when Facebook has an HD copy.
Accepts facebook.com/watch, /videos/, /reel/, fb.watch and m.facebook.com links.
Facebook usually stores two versions of a video, an SD copy that plays by default in the feed and an HD copy that loads on faster connections. Pasting a link here shows both when they exist, so you can take the HD file rather than whatever the feed decided to autoplay.
Watch pages, video permalinks, Reels and short fb.watch share links all resolve to the same underlying video, so any of them can be pasted. Mobile m.facebook.com links work too.
Click the video so it opens on its own page rather than in the feed.
Use the three dot menu and Copy link, or copy the URL from the address bar.
Press Fetch. Available qualities appear under the thumbnail.
Choose the highest resolution offered, then save the MP4.
| Format | What you get | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| MP4 HD | The 720p or 1080p copy when Facebook has one | Best quality available for that post |
| MP4 SD | The lower resolution feed copy | Small files, fast downloads, messaging |
| MP3 | Audio only from the video | Talks, interviews, music clips |
Facebook privacy settings are enforced at the source. Videos posted to Friends only, to a private group, or inside a page you have to follow are not visible without being logged in as someone with access, and cannot be fetched. Videos set to Public work, whether they sit on a page, a profile or a public group.
A link copied from the browser address bar while scrolling the feed often points at the feed position rather than the video. Click the video first so it opens on its own page, or use the three dot menu on the post and choose Copy link, which always gives a permalink that works.
Finished live broadcasts behave like normal videos once Facebook has processed them. A stream that is still running cannot be downloaded until it ends. Long uploads are supported up to the 2 GB file limit.
No. Videos restricted to friends, private groups or specific audiences require a logged-in account with access.
Yes. Short share links are expanded to the real video automatically.
Yes. Reel links from public accounts work the same as regular video links.

On iPhone a downloaded video lands in Files, not the camera roll. Here is the exact path on iOS and Android, why Safari greys out Save Video, and why downloads fail.
