Paste any youtube.com or youtu.be link. Pick the resolution you want, up to 4K when the uploader provided it.
Accepts youtube.com/watch, youtu.be short links, /shorts/ links and music.youtube.com.
YouTube stores video and audio as separate streams above 360p. Picking 1080p on most sites means you get a 1080p file with weak sound, or a 360p file with good sound. This tool downloads both streams and merges them with ffmpeg, so a 1080p download really is 1080p video with the full-quality audio track attached.
The merged file is a normal MP4 using H.264 video and AAC audio wherever YouTube offers that combination. That is the format Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, iMovie, smart TVs and every phone open without complaint. VP9 and AV1 streams are only used when nothing else exists at that resolution.
On desktop, copy it from the address bar. On mobile, tap Share and then Copy link.
Paste it in the box above and press Fetch. The thumbnail and title confirm you have the right video.
Pick a resolution for MP4, or switch to MP3 if you only want the audio.
Video and audio are merged, then the finished MP4 is sent to your browser.
| Format | What you get | Typical size |
|---|---|---|
| MP4 2160p | True 4K video merged with the best audio stream | Roughly 350 to 700 MB per 10 minutes |
| MP4 1080p | Full HD, the most common choice | Roughly 80 to 160 MB per 10 minutes |
| MP4 720p | HD at a much smaller size | Roughly 40 to 80 MB per 10 minutes |
| MP3 | Audio only from the best available track | Roughly 10 MB per 10 minutes |
| M4A | Original AAC audio, no re-encoding step | Roughly 8 MB per 10 minutes |
The quality buttons are built from what the uploader actually published, not from a fixed list. A 2013 vlog will top out at 720p no matter what any site promises. A recent tech review will usually offer 1080p and often 1440p or 2160p. If a resolution is missing from the list, YouTube does not have it for that video.
Shorts links work exactly like regular watch links, and the vertical 1080 by 1920 frame is preserved rather than cropped. Links copied from YouTube Music resolve to the same video and are a good candidate for the MP3 option. Long videos are fine, though a two-hour 4K download is a large file and takes as long as your connection needs.
Yes, when the uploader published a 4K version. The 2160p button only appears if that stream exists for the video you pasted.
Older uploads and some phone uploads were never encoded above 720p. The list of buttons reflects what YouTube holds, so a missing button means the resolution does not exist.
Yes. Paste the /shorts/ link and it is treated like any other video, keeping the vertical framing.
No. Both require a signed-in account, and this tool fetches anonymously.
No. Playlist links resolve to the single video they point at, which avoids accidentally starting a hundred downloads.
No. Nothing is added to the file. You get the stream YouTube serves.

Saving videos on iPhone and Android, and what to do when it failsOn iPhone a downloaded video lands in Files, not the camera roll. Here is the exact path on iOS and Android, why Safari greys out Save Video, and why downloads fail.
