Privacy policy
The short version
SavedVid has no accounts, sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. It does not keep the videos it prepares for you, and it does not build a history of what you download.
The link you paste
When you press fetch, the link is sent to our server so it can ask the platform for the video details and, if you download, the file itself. The link is used for that request and is not written to a database or a log file by the application.
To fetch the video, the server contacts the platform the link belongs to, such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook. That platform sees a request coming from our server, not from you.
Files we prepare
A downloaded file is assembled in a temporary folder on the server and deleted as soon as it has been sent to your browser. If you never collect it, it is deleted automatically after 30 minutes. The temporary folder is also emptied every time the server restarts.
IP addresses
To stop the service being flooded, the server counts how many requests each IP address makes in a short window. Those counts are held only in memory, never written to disk, and are discarded when the one minute window ends.
The hosting infrastructure in front of the server, including Cloudflare for the website and a reverse proxy for the download service, may keep standard access logs that include IP addresses and request times, as almost every website does.
Thumbnails
Video thumbnails are fetched by our server and passed to your browser, because many platforms refuse to show their images on other sites. This means your browser does not contact those image servers directly.
Proxies
Some platforms refuse requests from data centre addresses. When that happens, the server may route requests for those platforms through a proxy provider. The provider then handles the request to the platform, including the link you pasted.
Cookies
The site itself sets no cookies and uses no local storage. Cloudflare, which serves the pages, may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the site from automated abuse.
Children
The service is not aimed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, since it collects no personal profiles at all.
Changes
If the way the service handles data changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it.
